The Baseline
All games use Dungeons & Dragons Fifth Edition, 2014 rules, as written, except for the changes on this page. Individual campaigns may add more — check the campaign page.
The free rules are in the System Reference Document 5.1.
Changes from the Rules as Written
Rulings at the table
If a rules question would hold up play for more than a minute, I'll make a ruling and we'll look it up after the session. That ruling stands for the rest of the night.
Critical hits
[e.g. RAW / maximise one set of dice and roll the other]
Potions
[e.g. drinking a potion yourself is a bonus action; feeding one to someone else is an action]
Death saves
[e.g. rolled privately in Roll20 to the DM / rolled openly]
Flanking
[e.g. not used]
Inspiration
[How you award it and whether it can be passed to another player]
Resting
[RAW, or your variant]
Multiclassing & feats
[Allowed / with DM approval]
Character Death
[How lethal are your games, and what happens when a character dies? e.g. new character joins at the same level, with starting gear appropriate to the level. Resurrection magic exists but is expensive and rare.]
Dice
- All rolls are made in Roll20 so everyone sees them, unless I ask for a secret roll.
- [Do you allow physical dice? If so, how do you verify them?]
- Roll when asked; rolling early and announcing it slows everyone down.
Player vs Player
[e.g. No PvP combat or stealing from other characters without the other player's consent out of character.]
Loot & Treasure
[How is treasure split? Who tracks the party inventory? Can magic items be bought?]
