Never Played Before?
Good. Everyone starts somewhere, and new players often bring the best ideas to the table.
Dungeons & Dragons is a game of shared storytelling. I describe the world and play everyone in it; you each play one character and decide what they do. Dice decide whether risky things succeed. There's no board and no winner — the goal is a good story and a good night.
You don't need to know the rules before you start. I'll walk you through building a character and explain things as they come up. You will learn faster by playing than by reading.
Your First Session
- Read the playing online page and set up Roll20 and Discord.
- Come to Session Zero. We'll build characters together if you need help.
- Have a rough idea of the kind of character you'd like to play. "A sneaky one" or "someone who hits things" is plenty to start with.
- Ask questions. There are no silly ones.
